Insulation

and how I can help

You must first understand that there is different types of insulation and different places you will find it. Fiberglass, Mineral wool, Cellulose, Polystyrene, Polyisocyanurate, Polyurethane, Cotton, Sheep wool to name a few. Insulation is typically found in the attic, walls, flooring, or basement. The form of insulation can come in the form of soft batts, rigid boards, spray foam, or even specialty products like beads.

Some insulation projects are easier than others and not all insulation professionals have all the options. some businesses only do spray insulation for example. Regardless of what type you want, the goal of all insulation is to increase your home’s R value. This will preserve your home’s temperature saving you on energy costs in the winter and summer. If we built good homes we would also take into account things like passive solar, wind direction, and thermal mass but we don’t make good homes anymore in this country so these are pretty much irrelevant. I grew up in a home without insulation and every winter my feet got cold even with the furnace on so there is a comfort factor as well.
